Attribute Changer

Certain properties are stored for files and folders in Windows besides the data. Those properties are further distinguished in file attributes, file size and date & time. Files or folders for instance can be set to be read only or hidden which influences their appearance and behavior. Hidden files for instance are not shown by default if you open a folder in Windows unless you have set the option to display hidden files and folders to true.

This also means that those attributes are not set in stone and that applications can overrule them. The software Attribute Changer is a comprehensive program to change all kind of file and folder properties in Windows. Six file attributes (read-only, hidden, archive, system, compress and index) and the date and time (created, modified and accessed) can be changed for folders and files. Subfolders and files can be automatically processed as well.

The program can be opened by right-clicking a folder, file or hard drive and selecting Change Attributes from the menu. The user has the option to include or exclude all folders except the ones added to the function.
