A submarine cable map was posted recently in a Guardian article about the ship that cut two of the cables which had the result that more than 70 million Internet were left with limited access to the Internet. The ship’s anchor cut two submarine cables which had the result that the bandwidth capacities were severely reduced.
Underground Sea Cables are the main Internet connections and I think it is interesting to see how they to link continents and countries. The Submarine Cable Map of 2008 is showing those underground sea cables, their capacities and the estimated bandwidth usage by country.

Take a look at the map posted at The Guardian and a cable map from Telegepgraphy.
