I also haven't been able to use the video download function, but I've heard it had something to do with the Firefox updates, so I'm guessing it's going to be fixed soon. If you're going to be downloading any YouTube Greasemonkey script; YousableTubeFix is the one to get. (Also note that YousableTubeFix has just be updated today.)
