IMHO programs and people too, works mostly with small files. I got 2x250GB SATA drives in RAID 0 (120MB/s sequential read speed) and I got up to 300KB/s (yes, kilobytes) transfer rate with files of size 1kb. In this case fast transfer doesn't matter. What matters is seek time which is hundred times faster on SSD drive than on common HDD. Oh Martin, data read speed it’s not the most important factor of drive speed!
