Firefox Live Chat Support

Where do you go if you have a problem with Firefox ? I normally research the problem and try to find a solution for it on my own. There is one more possibility that the Mozilla team recently has established and that is Firefox Live Chat Support. You can get into contact with a volunteer who is trying to help you solve the problem that you are experiencing.

At the moment only English speaking users can be helped and only Firefox related problems can be discussed. The chat opens in a browser window. I decided to test it out and I immediately was connected to a helpful person named Jessie who tried to help me with my problem.

I do have a problem at the moment. Firefox hangs whenever I try to load a website without Internet connection. This happens when my Internet connection dies or if my Router is not establishing one automatically. The hang lasts for about 5-10 seconds and Firefox is not reacting at all in that time.

Jessie knew about the Firefox configuration and about:config. We could not locate the problem though and she told me to try to start Firefox in safe mode, that is without add-ons, and see if the problem persisted.

I’m currently at that stage. If any of you have a solution for this problem I’m facing let me know please because those hangs are really irritating.
