Software Updates Week 52 2007

This is this years last Software Updates article and I will continue listing all updated applications that have been written about here at Ghacks of the last seven days on every Wednesday. I still hope that you find this list useful and helpful in determining which software that you use has been updated.

I thought that this week would not have that many software updates but oh boy was I wrong. This week was the week with the most software updates ever since I started the series which meant lots of work for me to list everything neatly and write a short description so that everyone - even those who do not know the software - get a good understanding of what the software does.

Azureus 3.0.4.1 Beta 10 - a Java Bittorrent client.
BitComet Build 20071219 Beta - another popular Bittorrent client.
doPDF 5.3.247 - create PDF documents.
Executor 0.97 - a Windows program launcher much like Launchy.
foobar2000 0.9.5 Beta 9 - great customizable music player.
Fresh Download 7.92 - a download manager.
HostsMan 3.1.54 RC2 - take care of your hosts file, add ad blockers with ease to it.
IE7pro 2.0 Beta 4 - if you use Internet Explorer 7 this is a must have add-on for you. Adds a lot of features to it.
K-Lite Codec Pack 3.6.2 - K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of VFW/ACM codecs, DirectShow filters and tools. Codecs and DirectShow filters are needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video formats
Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor 1.0.0.918 - Checks if your computer can run Windows Vista.
Mp3tag 2.39k Beta - a complete tool to tag your mp3 collection.
Opera 9.50 Build 9716 Beta - prolly the best browser around these days.
Real Alternative Regular 1.7.5 - add Real Media support to other media players (like the one that you are using normally) without having to install the Real Player.
Songbird 0.4 RC2 - a music player based on Mozilla.
SparkleXP 0.5 - one of the many Windows tweakers.
System Information for Windows 1.73 - a comprehensive tool that displays lots of information about the computer.
TagScanner 5.0 build 516 - a great mp3 tagger.
TestDisk 6.9 Beta - a data recovery software
Tor 0.2.0.13 Alpha - one way to stay anonymous on the Internet.
Vista Codec Package 4.5.5 - add all the missing codecs to Windows Vista at once.
vLite 1.1 RC - customize Windows Vista before installation.
WildBit Viewer 5.1 Beta 1.0 - a compact image viewer comparable to IrfanView, Xnview and all the others.
Winamp 5 Full 5.51 - a music player favorited by many. I do prefer XMPlay though.
WinMerge 2.7.7.1 Experimental - compare and merge files.
XnView 1.92 a great image viewer.
