The next few days will not see that many updates here on my website because I will be spending most of that time with my friends and family instead. I wanted to use the opportunity to wish everyone a merry Christmas – if you don’t celebrate have some nice days.
I really like this time of the year because everything seems just a bit more relaxed and quieter, at least around here. This gives me some time to think of the year that has passed and make some plans for the next to come.
I usually eat more than I should in these days as well and I really have to compensate for that and increase my training again. Working from home also has its toll on my fitness but I’m away from Pizza and Chinese Food that we ate at work all the time, that’s a relief..
Peace !

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
In US, some people say Happy Holiday instead of Merry Christmas. Some companies & stores force their employees say that to customers. Sounds strange?

May be it’s because of religion differences? There are many people in USA now – not just Catholics and Protestants. And another religions have different religious celebrations.
Here in Ukraine we have Orthodox majority and Catholic minority – so Catholics are not satisfied, because they want have holidays on Catholic calendar days, not on Orthodox, which are official.

I don’t want to let this drift of into a political / religious discussion.
I personally think that this is part of my (Western) cultural background and that people who come to my country have to accept this fact. Feels awfully much as changing history to please everyone which is not possible.
The majority should not always try to please the minorities especially when this leads to a denial of ones own cultural background.

OK-OK I just tried to give an explanation.
Happy holiday to all. Enjoy your vacations.
Merry Xmas and an Excellent 2008 to everybody. :D
Happy Holidays to you Martin!
