The developers of SnagIt have another unbeatable offer on their website. Version 3.1.3 of Camtasia Studio is provided for free including a serial number which registers the software completely. A very good open-source alternative to this is CamStudio. Though, Camtasia does provide many additional features for video recording (and even basic editing, if I remember it right) as well as its own TechSmith codec for video compression.
