It is Wednesday again which means it is time for the weekly software updates article. I try to list all applications that have been updated in the last seven days that have been mentioned at Ghacks previously. This is usually a list of 10-20 applications with links to the homepage of the developer so that everyone may download the new version immediately.
The description is short, if you would like a longer one or further information let me know and I will gladly provide them. If you have any other suggestions or tips on how to improve this list let me know as well.
Before I forget: Everything that is listed here is freely available. No commercial software makes it into this list.
Azureus 3.0.3.5 Beta 7 – Azureus is a Java Bittorrent client that I have used in the past. I did make the switch to uTorrent though.
CCleaner 2.02.527 – Scans your system for and removes junk, temporary files and privacy related content such as history files if selected by the user.
Codec Installer 2.8.0 – analyzes the codecs on your system and the codecs needed for video or audio files and suggests to install them.
doPDF 5.3.240 – A free PDF converter that gets updated every week it seems.
DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.0.5 Beta – copy movies from DVD to your hard drive removing common protections in the process.
FileZilla 3.0.3 RC1 – A great ftp client.
foobar2000 0.9.5 Beta 3 – An advanced audio player for Windows. I do prefer XMPlay.
MediaCoder 0.6.0.3940 – A audio and video batch converter that uses the codecs that are installed on your system.
nLite 1.4 – create a new Windows installation CD that has several Windows components like Outlook and Windows Media Player removed.
Opera 9.50 Build 9624 Beta – Opera is a fantastic browser, better than Internet Explorer and at least on the same level as Firefox.
Orbit downloader 2.4.2 – A fantastic download manager with lots of options and features not found in others. I love Grab++ which grabs multimedia files.
Paint.NET Alpha 3.20 – If you do not use GIMP you probably use Paint.NET, another great free image editor.
Process Explorer 11.04 – Process Explorer is a must have software, it offers detailed information on all processes on your system.
Process Monitor 1.26 – Another great application by Sysinternals. Process Monitor is a advanced monitoring tool for Windows.
RivaTuner 2.06 – Great for overclockers and users who want to slow the fan of their graphics card.
SopCast 2.0.1 RC1 – One of those Asian P2P clients that stream TV. Especially used for watching football and other sport events live.
Start++ 0.7.9 – A start menu enhancement for Windows Vista.
The GIMP 2.4.1 – The image editor that I use.
Vista Codec Package 4.5.2 – A one click play all code pack for Windows Vista adding support for many audio and video files. I prefer a individual solution though.
WinMerge 2.7.5.4 Experimental – A software that displays differences between files and is able to merge changes.
YamiPod for Windows 1.7 Beta 3 – manages your iPod, available for Windows, Linux and Mac

Actually it can be twice a week too, we just updated it to 241 today :).
It’s like this, if there are at least 2 small bugs fixed we make a build with that improvement instead of waiting to release a new version – this way we get less questions.
This is such a cool little section you do. Keep up the good work.
