UKiVPN.com provides full access for Hulu etc in the US and for iPlayer, C4, ITV, etc in the UK. It costs $8US / £4.74GBP. Very reliable so far (had it 3 weeks) and fast enough to avoid buffering problems. Easy to set up and use. Pretty good product.

It looks Hulu’s now using the flash protocol to get around browser proxy settings. I found a linux solution here: http://www.alternativedenial.org/?p=94. They suggest that proxifier works for windows too, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Well I’ve checked this again and now it’s no working anymore… idk why, maybe the hulu IT guys are really fast solving this kind of “bugs” when dettect somebody’s IP outside the US downloading their contents. :(

Ok. I did it, but it doesn’t work. I clicked on http://releasegeo.hulu.com/geoCheck, modified the source code and then I opened hulu.com and I got the same message: “Sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed from within the United States”.
I use opera as well.

Gian the source you have to modify is the one for the http://releasegeo.hulu.com/geoCheck url.

Actually what i see is not “not-valid” but is “Sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed from within the United States”.
The page where that appears is full of other things and if i click view source there are hundres of code lines and “not-valid” is not there.
Did i misundertand something?

One more thing, use the ALT+F5 when refreshing the hulu video webpage so it clear the cache for that page.

Hi Martin I know this is a very old post, but I think this is the right place to post this. I just discovered that you can bypass the protection using Opera browser without any other application or proxies. I posted this on my blog:

, but it’s in Spanish so I’ll translate the essence here in English. All you have to do is go to the URL:

http://releasegeo.hulu.com/geoCheck

If you’re outside the US you’ll see the following:

not-valid

go to view source code for that page, and you will find a xml tags, just remove the “not-” from the source, apply the changes and refresh the page for the video you wants to watch. And that’s it, Hulu.com without using proxies.

hot spot shield from anchorfree it works perfect with hulu
on Firefox i have had NO problems.

you can hotspot shield, free download and all. it works well to get you to the site, bandwidth is not that good though. but nonetheless is a good trade off

AnchorFree works fine for me at work on a Mac, but on my PC at home (windows xp, sp2) it doesn’t work at all.

It sits on “Waiting for Server” forever.

Total. Bummer.
