Another week has passed and it’s time again for the software updates of week 44. One of my readers asked me the last time how I kept track of all the software updates and I would like to take the time and answer his question. I do have several websites in my feedreader but also use software portals like Betanews or Softpedia to keep track of what is being updated throughout the week.
All software listed in this article have been mentioned at Ghacks before. I provide this service mainly to give everyone a quick way to check if a software that he is using has been updated in the last seven days. 7-Zip 4.56 Beta - a packer favorited by many. I prefer IZArc though.
doPDF 5.2.238 - a PDF converter that gets updated every week, it seems.
Eraser 5.85 - erase files securely. Great for removing traces of deleted files from the hard disk.
foobar2000 0.9.5 Beta 2 - if I would not be using XMPlay I would probably be using foobar.
Fresh UI 7.94 - change hundreds of settings in Windows easily. A so called Windows tweaker.
IE7pro 1.2.0.3 - a great add-on for Internet Explorer adding lots of functionality to it.
MediaCoder 0.6.0.3932 - a universal audio and video encoder.

- probably the most comprehensive software of its kind.
Recuva 1.07.138 - recover already deleted files in Windows.
SpeedFan 4.34 Beta 34 - displays hardware temperatures and is able to regulate the fan speed.
Startup Delayer v2.3.125 - delay system startups to speed it up.
Streamripper for Windows 1.63 Beta 1 - save Internet Radio streams to your hard drive. I prefer XMPlay to do this.
The GIMP 2.4.0 - a great image editor that I use.
Tor 0.2.0.9-alpha - a privacy and anonymity client.
UpdateStar 1.0.100 Beta - checks if updates are available for the software that is installed on your system.
Vista Codec Package 4.5.2 Beta 2 - your one-click solution to play all video and audio files in Windows Vista.
WinSCP 4.0.5 - Free SFTP, FTP and SCP client for Windows
