Automatic? I think the Freeware “IObit SmartDefrag” can do this.

BTW: The portable Utility http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag
can this also – manually – when You place the JKdefrag.exe in Your “Send To” Folder
and select any File or Folder and “Sendto” -> JKdefrag. ;)

Is it automatic? I like automatic defraggers since there is no need to run the defragmenter manually or to set a schedule – the defragger handles everything transparently and without bothering me. It’s easier and more efficient than the old way of doing things.

WinContig is a good alternative – a free standalone executable that can defrag individual files or folders. You can also load groups of files into profiles for future use.
