I certainly agree that Nero has a simple UI, but why worry about stripping it down, and legal / illegal issues, when you can always use a Legally FREE tool with all the essential components is available, as STARBURN from Rocket Division. You have a portable version, which does not even need installation!!

Until a few months ago i resisted to switch to Nero 6, which i consider “bloated beyond reason”.
But new DVDR forced my hands.

But Nero 7 is just plain ridiculus.

I’d rather resort to a open source burning application (imgburn) …

one problem, no nero vision. which I think is needed to create a dvd.

or is there a way to do it using nero burner? because if you have *.avi (home movies encoded to this format) and you want to create a dvd, it need s nero vision to compress it to mpeg2 file..
