I used to be Winamp fan for years, and could not imagine, what else may I need from music player. Then I tried Foobar and it just changed the way I listen the music… Firstly I wanted it to feel and look in a way winamp does, but after some time become totally addicted to foobar itself.
The main reason, why I like Foobar so much, is it’s customizability. It takes some good time to understand how things work there, and how to change them, but after spending that time you are rewarded with player, that behaves in a way _you_ want it to.
I use “heavyweight” Foobar, with lots additional components and advanced interface, because functionality is a main point for me.
What I dislike in Foobar is that it’s Windows only…

I tried foobar but was not fully convinced me (i was too used to the way winamp worked). I use XMPlay, which is marvelous and does not install itself (extract and run). Some winamp plugins are also supported. That’s worth the look !

I’ve been using foobar2000 for about 5 years or so. Is it better or worse than winamp? I don’t know – never used it. Foobar has all i need (and much more) so i’ll stick to it.

Foobar2000, what can I say. Just start using it and love it. Low on your resources but high in performance. One player that can be customize to anyone needs.

I’m a Winamp 2.X fan myself. I’m perfectly happy with it and don’t really feel the need to switch to another one. Having said that, I do have the Foobar setup in case I ever decide to give it a try.

I use foobar 2000 because I have to – after virus infected my system winamp doesn’t run any more :(
And what I can say – winamp is 1000x better.
