Web 2.0 goes Porn

Please be advised that the following paragraphs contain links to websites with explicit content. If you feel offended by it or are not of legal age you should skip this article completely. User generated content is in my opinion the number one argument why Web 2.0 sites are that successful. It does not matter if you take a look at Youtube, Twitter or Myspace to realize that they would not be that successful if it were not for the users that would feed them with new content.

Over the past year several web 2.0 porn sites, lets call them social porn sites – emerged and became incredibly successful over a short period of time. Even censorship like the removal of the successful site Youporn from Google’s index could not stop the rise of a site that is currently placed 85th in Alexas ranking. Remember, a site with no help from Google makes it under the top 100 sites worldwide sitting there in front of Apple Inc. for instance which got a rank of 90.

Megarotic, another of those sites is just one place behind currently placed 86th in Alexa.
