Yeah I should of kept up with my German and Spanish too. Good luck Martin, a pretty cool idea.

Timo says, March 21st, 2007

i’m german, and i have to say, that i like more to read some pages in english

is it realy needed to translate ? i would stay by the english version

Martin says, March 21st, 2007

Timo I’m mainly doing it to increase the reach of ghacks, not to bring English speaking folks to read the translated versions. This is mainly for the search engines who will surely add the translated articles to their index and bring more visitors to the site.

Everton says, March 22nd, 2007

Why do you need a German translator? I thought you were German?

How are you going to set this up? Are you going to create a whole new blog at say http://www.ghacks.net/de where the translator will have admin access?

Martin says, March 22nd, 2007

Everton yes I will do it that way but use subdomains instead. I probably do the German translations, not sure though. I will replace the automatic translator link with the link to the human translations. Those translations will surely have a great impact on visitors who do not speak English (that well), because frankly, those computer generated translations are really really bad.

Martin says, March 22nd, 2007

I will let you know how this works out :)

Timo says, March 22nd, 2007

Martin, I have no problem translating to Spanish, if you want it just email me. bye.

Javier Marti says, March 23rd, 2007

I can organize the Spanish translation side if you still need it. Let me know. I followed your content for some time and spending a few extra mins translating your pages would not be complicated for me. Besides, I know a lot more people who can help you with that in case something would happen to me. Your content would be always covered

Everton says, March 23rd, 2007

Everton yes I will do it that way but use subdomains instead.

I think you’ll be better off doing sub-directories instead otherwise the translated pages won’t benefit fully from the main sites page rank, and vice versa.
