Download songs from radio.blog.com

The website radioblogclub.com makes it really easy to search for music using their search engine. I conducted some test searches and found 178 Blur tracks, 537 tracks for The Beatles and 482 tracks for Madonna. The site offers a way to listen to the music online or copy and paste code into your own website to make it available to your visitors.

Unfortunately for them, but good for us, is the fact that the code contains the direct link to the mp3 file. It is therefor very easy to extract the link to the mp3 file from the code and download it afterwards. This requires some manual work but is really easy, here is one example how this is done.

  1. Search for an artist or song and click on the blue icon on the left side of every song
  2. Copy and paste the appearing the code in the right sidebar into your address bar
  3. Remove all the content except the content starting with http and ending with either .mp3 or .rbs
  4. It might be necessary to change some html code back to their corresponding chars, those are:
    1. %2f = “/”
    2. %3a = “:”
    3. %20 =” “

The last step has to be applied sometimes. Rename the file extension .rbs into .mp3. Please check the legality of this method in your country before you proceed and download songs from that website.

This could be an alternate way of obtaining indexes with music.instead of changing all the chars ….for example

    http%3A%2F%2Feter.free.fr%2Fradio.blog%2F sounds%2FCold%20-%20End%20of%20world.rbs

    into:

    http://eter.free.fr/radio.blog/sounds

very interesting, I’m really curious if this is a legal service and why they do not protect the music that they offer. This is not working for all domains btw.

You can also click on the play button under the configure option to pre-load the track. Then just go out under your Temporary Internet Files and copy and paste the track. Then rename to MP3 and you’re set.

great… but when i took the url and it started playing in IE6, i went to file>>save as… but it was grayed out. so then i went to windows media player and went to file>>open url… copied the url, and then it started to play. i went to file>>save as… and then it said an error had occured yada yada yada. i tried it again a couple of times, but no good luck. so THEN i used a music editing software called wavepad, and opened the file in that. once again, it started to play, but it wouldn’t save the dang thing! what am i doing wrong?
