You now the drill. The mozilla team populates the ftp servers and global mirrors before they make the official announcement that firefox 2.0.1 has been released. You may however download the new update of firefox prior to the announcement. It probably does not make a lot of sense for many users to update using one of the ftp mirrors instead of waiting one or two days to download it from the official site or the update function.
Some users who are experiencing bugs or are concerned about security might want to have the updated version as soon as possible to fix bugs and security holes as soon as possible. The following link is to an ftp site that offers firefox 2.0.1 for all supported operating systems and languages.
If you want to be fast go get it know, otherwise wait one more day and get it the regular way. If you are interested about the fixes in this version check out the mozillazine website which lists more than 150 fixes to firefox 2.0. Of note is that 42 bugs that crashed firefox, 3 memory leaks and 4 privacy related bugs have been fixed.

Firefox 3.5.3
Firefox 3.02 Final
Firefox 3.5.5
Web Browser: Firefox 3.0.8
Is it 2.0.0.1 or 2.0.1? I only see 2.0.0.1 in http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/.
good to know, that memory leaks makes me crazy
Capella you are right, it is 2.0.0.1 missed it because it was late..
Hi Martin, no problem. For a moment I thought there was a new version AGAIN just right after I upgraded to 2.0.0.1. :)
First bad FF experience in a long time. Crashing every 10 mins or so. Anyone else?
Even 2.0.0.1 has memory leak, it’s virtual image size just keeps increasing as I browse, I have to restart it after using it for an hour
