I have windows media player 9 installed on my machine and I can’t get it to update to WMP11. I tried renaming the LegitlibM.dll to LegitLib.dll, even that didn’t work. When I press validate, it says I might be a victim of counterfeiting and directs my browser to the WGA page on microsoft.com.

I tried merging the .reg file into the registry but I got the error stating that only binary files can be merged into the registry. Nothing works so far…

I look for the packtage the gueneine check for my windows média 11 .Now I have just only the windows média 10 but for my sound is not correct before I was compatibility with 3 eleven and I had work with mozilla fire fox and lmy computer is in vista premium with all the “mises à jours” update of real player 11 so than I don’t what that I must do it because to read dvd the reading is bad so than what i must do Thanks for the submit

prateek – I may be wrong but I think you downloaded the 64-bit version of WMP but your computer is running the 32-bit version of Windows. Solution = get the 32 bit version of WMP from http://www.ghacks.net/2006/10/31/windows-media-player-11-download/

For information:
wmp11-windowsxp-x64-enu.exe (64 bit version)
wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe (32 bit version)

i did extract the wmp11-windowsxp-x64-enu.exe file to a specific folder on desktop. then i run wmfdist11-64.exe n it gives anerror message… update/upadate.exe is not a valid Win32 application.. please helpp!!

tooo good!!! amazing!!but i had an error message. windows media has encountered a prob and needs to shut down.

after the extraction and installation. i executed wmfdist11. then i executed wmp11 like you said and there it was!!!

if u wanna install WMP11 without WGA check,,here’s what u will do.

STEP 1. download WMP11 file.
STEP 2. extract the file to ur desired folder.(i would prefer u make ur own blank folder in desktop).
STEP 3. Install all the Application file but do not restart yet,,then find WMP11 Application then install then restart PC.
STEP 4. Run the installed player then just follow the steps.. THAT’s IT YOU”RE DONE

um i read all through your ideas and i decided to try my own n i found that if you delete the
LegitLibM.dll file then go to install and click validate it will tell you are unvalifated then click the next button that shows it will skip that step and let you intsall the program
