I’m ready to celebrate the first anniversary of my website in less than four weeks with you. Without you this site would be nothing, what good is a blog that no one reads, that no one comments on ? I would like to tell you more about yourself, as stupid as it sounds – I took a long glance at my sites stats and will present some interesting figures, believe me.
My readers love firefox, 54.7% of you are using Firefox with another 2,6 using Mozilla or beta versions of the upcoming Firefox 2.0 browser. The Internet Explorer makes it to 34.1% and Opera to 4.2%. The large number for Internet Explorer comes mostly from search engines, if you are a visiting my site regularly you most likely are using Firefox.
85.5% are using a Windows operating system, 8% Linux and 4.7% Mac Os. Most are using Windows and I do not see that this will be changing in the near future. I plan to buy a new pc at the end of this year and this one will solely run on either free bsd or a linux distribution. I will create a blog about it, my steps into the Linux world and write about all the problems and solutions I have faced.
Most of you stay between 0 and 30 seconds, reading one article I presume but about 5% of all visitors stay more than 30 minutes on my website. Not sure if they are simply forgetting to close it or are really using my website though ;).
I would like to remind everyone that the Ghacks First Anniversary Competition is still running. To sum it up: Write an article, I publish it, the best three articles recieve a paypal payment of 50$, 30$ and 20$. This competition ends the day before the anniversary which is 2. October 2006.

I come here from my RSS reader (feedreader)usually, so I guess that makes me an IE user (even though I use FF all the time). Maybe your FF user numbers are higher than you think…
The same situation with BomboChipolata. I use GreatNews, so my visits are logs as IE, but I use FF. Anyway: Happy Aniversary! And good luck with the other blog you have in mind. I will stick to this for long time.
