Btw, I can't beleive that RealPlayer actually got one vote in the poll already. Do people really use that thing for anything other than RealMedia streams?
Re: previous poll results, here are some reasons that people pick Google above everything else:
1. Simple front page interface - it has only the logo and the searchbox. No annoying adds, or distracting links.
2. Text Adds - people hate banners, flash ads and etc... Google only has relevant non-intrusive text ads in the sidebar.
3. Image - google is hip and cool, and it's "do no evil" mantra scores them big with the geek crowd. We all hate big evil companies, but Google at least tries to appear different. And that's why people love them.
4. Innovation - every once in a while they release some really cool apps from Google labs. All of their products are very innovative, well thought out and well designed. If they take so much care in developing little side projects, they must be really meticulous about their search algorithms, no?
5. Search Accuracy - in my personal experience Google puts more relevant results on the front page. MSN is not a trustworthy source, because they have an obvious agenda (selling Microsoft solutions). Nothing else even comes close in therms of relevancy, and number of indexed pages.
So there - 5 reasons for Google's domminance.

VLC all the way! It looks really ugly but is by far the best music player I know.
VLC is the best one for any video file.

I think you missed the best one for music: http://www.foobar2000.org/ Foobar2000<br
