The new beta of Firefox 2 has finally been released to the public today. There have been numerous delays to the release of this new beta version with lots of rumors surrounding it. Well, no need to worry anymore, it is there, go grab it if you want to take a sneak peak on what has changed since the last beta. I had some stability problems with the last firefox 2 beta version and hope that those have been fixed by the developers.
Windows Vista Price Leaked
What would we do without online retailers who are quick at adding new products and at the same time confirm the price of the product this way. This time it was amazon.com who added product pages for all Windows Vista versions, which as you might now will be available in seven different versions. Windows Vista Home Basic Edition is the cheapest version of Windows Vista with a price of 199$ and can be compared to the Windows XP home version which also retailed at 199 $.
Three Great Freeware Games
I do stumble upon great fanmade games from time to time and write down a note about those games to remember it and write an article like this one you are currently reading. I discovered three nice freeware games that are worth taking a closer look, their names are: Turrican 4 Funeral, Wings of Fury and Warzone 2100 Resurrection.
Random Myspace Image
I wrote a little php script that displays a random myspace image when you enter a eight digit image id from myspace. The sweat thing about this is that it is able to display private images as well. All you need to do is enter a eight digit number and it will calculate the image location and display the image, if an image with such an id exists of course. I might improve the script to scan image ranges or add an random button to it to make it more user friendly.
Secure User to User Communication
CSpace is a freeware that offers its users the possibility to securely communicate over the internet using public RSA keys with a strength of 2048 bit. Every user creates a 2048 bit RSA key for himself and maintains a contact list of names associated to public keys of other users. Public keys are exchanged using a key server. Cspace users can chat with each other, transfer files and even use a remote desktop feature.
Netvibes Review
Netvibes offers their users a way to create a personalized homepage on the web. I’am using it mainly to display the RSS feeds that I’am subscribed to but Netvibes offers more than that. You can create tabs just like in Firefox and name them, I categorized my feeds this way by giving them names like seo, money and games. You are able to add numerous feeds to every tab plus additional features that come in handy like a bookmarks manager or a todo list.

Windows Vista Pre RC1 Released
Microsoft released a new version of their upcoming Windows Vista operating system called Pre RC1 which means this should be the last version before the release candidate gets out. It is only available for a limted time so hurry up and visit their download pages right away. Only the first 100.000 users will be able to download this version, after that the download will not be available anymore.
Huge High Resolution Wallpaper Website
Mydeskcity is a hugh, and I mean really huge, high quality wallpaper website that is not overloaded with advertisement like most of the other wallpaper websites out there. The only drawback that I could find is that this website is not in english but Chinese (?), at least I think it is Chinese. Navigating it is easy nevertheless: The thumbnails on the main page depict the theme of the category, clicking on one of the numbers above the thumbnail leads to the corresponding page of the category.
