Add specialized Search Engines to Firefox

Mozilla Firefox comes preinstalled with seven search engines which are Google, Yahoo, Amazon, Answers, Creative Commons, Ebay and Furl. Those are probably not the best selections, most probably missed that there are more search engines than Google preinstalled. Adding new search engines that might prove more useful can be easily added by going to the mozilla search engine page.

Take a guess how many search engines or specialized sites can be added to firefox. The answer is more than 8000 ! All search engines are categorized for easier access. Categories include Computer, Games, Reference, Dictionaries and Arts & Media. You can also access the top 10 searches on that site for popular search engines.

The question is of course, which should you add ? I can“t answer that question for you but can name some that could be worth to add to your search engine list: Del.icio.us, ESPN, IMDB, MSN, Technorati, Wikipedia. Many are not english search engines but in different languages like German, Swedish and dutch.
