Martin,

Thanks again.

Your blog is quickly becomming one of those must see’s. I formated recently and almost lost track of it. I was leaving out the ’s’ in google and getting no results.. oops.

I really appreciate this list, very usefull. As for keeping the “Must Reg” sites in the list, I think there are the odd few that are well worth the 30secs or so for the registration. Though most of the time I just need something quick and cant be bothered. I’d personally like them to remain.

Thanks,

Mastaa

jc says, July 25th, 2006

http://uploadhosted.filefront.com/ says that The upload must not be larger than 1GB and must not last longer than 10 hours.

To Otho (comment number 6)

Badongo can upload multiple files at once. This is nice if you don’t want to stay on the computer for each time one file is finished uploading in order to set the next one.

Free Account Limitations:
150mb/hour download
30 second waiting period
download speed limited to 240kbps (up to 10x slower)
Download 1 file at a time
Files deleted after 30 days of inactivity

Really useful—thanx so much for providing this info! Do you have personal faves among the list, tho? :)

Chris Abraham says, September 21st, 2006

If you write a review about EggDisk on your blog, MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Blogger, WordPress.com, or message board; or if you put EggDisk into your permanent Blogroll (link list), then I will add a +1 Gigabyte of of free file storage to your already generous free 6GB account.

That’s 7 gigs of free online hosting, online storage, and online backup!

Just send me an email to me chris@eggdisk.com with a link to your review and your account name and you will get an extra gigabyte of storage for a grand total of 7GB of file hosting!

Nice site but do really check out services that you
list?? for example “Crazefiles” is “Upitus” and they
SUCK!!! You can only download one file every 15 or
20 minutes you can’t upload any images so you cannot
share pictures or tags and the constantly monitoring
the service. This is worse than Rapid Share

Jerry says, October 10th, 2006

No registration, low wait times and fewer restrictions for this one. Plus you can browse files that are public.

Thanks for compiling that long list of free services. As you know, around 66% of the critical data loss is caused by software and user oriented problems. And the age-old motto ‘prevention is better than cure’ still holds true. So when you choose an online storage service, it’s better that it should be a pioneer service using time-tested technologies to protect all your valuable data. There are so many services out there that offer just partial solutions and with hidden clauses that only God knows. So my grouse is that you have not included IBackup for Windows, a service which matches the criteria and the requirements you have listed above. It requires a credit card based registration process and there is no limit set on whatever you store or transfer. There are a variety of accounts available so that users can choose the amount of space they want to store their critical data. Uploads are fast, secure and stable and will not interfere with your normal operations.

As the application does incremental and compressed backups, your network bandwidth will be considerably reduced. This is because only portions of a file that have been modified will be transferred. You can transfer any type of files and even schedule the backups for a period of your choice. Your files will be there till you delete it and versioning allows you to view and restore older versions of files you have backed up. IBackup accounts are compatible with most FTP clients on most platforms providing a powerful flexible tool to transfer files. Try this out for a change.

Can you include which ones allow FTP uploads as well? I need a host which allows HotLinking and FTP upload of files. My files will be .zip and less than 4 MBs

Just_Me says, January 9th, 2008

Hi, this site provide much better file/image hosting, then I have seen other places: http://www.updownloading.com

- free membership.
- No waiting time to download.
- full download speed, NO restriction.
- 1GB per file upload.
- 50MB per picture upload.

You should give it a try.

Best regards…
