Howto Save Files from mybloop.com

Mybloop.com is a file hosting website that offers unlimited storage and is currently in beta stage. Files like mp3 are played in your browser and there is no obvious way to save them to your hard drive. Ryan from Cybernetnews came up with a way to save their files, so, here it is:

  • perform a search, for e.g. mp3 at mybloop
  • right-click a result and copy the link
  • paste the link into your address bar

  • change ?id= to /view/
  • a save to box should appear and you can save the file to your hard disk.

You only have to make sure that no other player plays the mp3 files directly in your browser. For Firefox you select Tools >> Options >> Downloads >> View & Edit Actions. Change the Action from e.g. mp3 files to “save them on my computer”.

Another way would be in Firefox, right click, View Page Info (not View Page Source). Then click on the Media tab, scroll down to the mp3 and there’s a save as.. button. That should work without that whole work-around.

Nope, sorry. Bad comment. It didn’t work. If you want, delete both these comments.

  3. Ben says:

Why not just play the song in the embedded mybloop player
(by just clicking on the link) and then right-clicking on the
player > properties > get the file’s url and then download that?
    nothing complicated!
