This freeware application might be useful to some who are still downloading from rapidshare. You will need some experience with proxies, I´ll get to that later. As we all know rapidshare.de has a timelimit and a downloadlimit for every IP address that connects to their service. Now, what would be a great way to circumvent those limits ? Right, change your IP address and you are ready to download again. You could do this by manually changing the proxy server in your browsers settings or you could use a tool like the grabber.
You copy and paste a rapidshare link to (1), select a proxy from the list or chose to use no proxy at (2), click Grab at (3) and the verification image at (4) will appear.
A path to the file will appear at (5) and you can select a server to download it or add it to a download manager.
That´s the theory. You have to remember that the first downloads will work without proxy but you will reach one of the limits eventually and that´s the time when you will have to change your IP to continue downloading new files.
You could use google to find proxy servers in the format IP:Port and use a freeware application like Charon to verify them. The Grabber has an build in proxy checker as well but I´am used to Charon and did not test this one.
Another great feature is the Rapidshare Explorer which lets you search files using the well known google site: operator. Comes in handy as well.

It should be noted that The Grabber’s built in proxy checker, does not check for anonymity, only functionality.
Additionally, it might take you longer than Rapidshare’s time limit to find a proxy that hasn’t already been use and has a time limit restriction on it as well.

Michael, the current version is 1.4.3, which is no longer free (it’s members-only). Versions prior to 1.4.3 have been made broken (or have bugs that make them dysfunctional). To answer your question: grab some proxies from the web or use a program like Proxy Switcher. Highlight your proxy list and copy it in to memory. Open Rs Grabber and press Proxy Checker, then copy from memory. Have Rs Grabber check the list and save the valid ones. You can then use the proxy options (audo switch & edit) on the main page.
Even with all these explanation it still pretty hard to understand… heheheh
