Another World 2006

I still have the floppies my PC version came on! This version seems buggy. It wont load past the title screen but plays the sound as if the game was going. Oh well, lets hope they fix it. I really loved this game.

The picture above is not the ingame graphics but there is some enhancements to the graphics and game play is smooth and responsive. Also as with amiga versions and others can look very blocky and out dated now and be a bit of hassle to run.
This version runs straight off with no hassles and knowing the game I’d recommend the 7 euro’s they are asking for the full version as a bargin.
But thew graphics isn’t like in the pic on this page. Yet people may run it and think there is hardly any difference but there is a lot, the game is smooth, loads less blocky than ALL other version wether it be a rom or PC version if ya can get it going and can be bothered.

Would be nice to see a Flash back version and even a re done fade to black version. Imagine this game done using todays graphics.

I’d recommend they re coded this version to work on mobile’s and psp and like. Maybe even a film of the story as that would be a good watch.

You can download this games demo which is the first level which takes me all of about seconds but back before I knew how it took a good bit of time working out how to complete just this first bit they give free in a demo.

The person above seemed to have problems with it being buggy, I have an nvidia 6600gt, fairly upto date drivers, latest directx9.0c and had no problems.
Download the 22mb file, ran it, it installed, I then went to program files, selected configuration in the newly Another World section in start/all program files, then I set it to 800×600, enhanced graphics and hi res which were already set, then ok’ed that. Then went back to start/all program then another world section then selected another world, it run, I found the keys quick which were arrows, ctrl and shift for run and jump, didn’t look for the kick key as I didnt need it for the first level. started running, jumped the wierdo worms, met the angry wierdo bull thing, ran from it, bit of this and that and cleared the level and everything was smooth and ran perfect. I did download the Abandoned PC version but it didnt’ work and would be too much hassle to get working and is an old DOS game hence the abanddoned.
I will be buying this game because it ran so smooth and painless and I like that in a gamem plus its 7 euros which is only about 4 to 5 uk pounds so a good bargin. ***** stars out of 5.
