I don't have a LCD monitor yet but this might be useful to some of you who already own one. This is not supposed to be working for every flat screen out there, but I think its nevertheless worth a try. The article explains how you can try and fix a dead pixel on your LCD monitor. First thing that you need to do is determine whether you have a stuck or dead pixel on the monitor. The core difference is that stuck pixels usually show a solid color, while dead pixels either a white or black pixel. That's does not mean that stuck pixels can't show black or white pixels, so keep that in mind.

If you have encountered several dead pixels on the monitor, you may want to consider using the warranty if the number of dead pixels falls under it. Contact the manufacturer of the monitor for information if that is an option.

Take a look at the following site and decide for yourself if you want to try this method.

You simply apply pressure to the dead pixel so that it is removed after a certain period of time passed. Sounds easy? Well try it out and tell me if it worked. The article has several other solutions, one involves applying heat to the stuck pixel to have it unstuck again, another to run a program that tries to resolve the situation by sending specifically tuned signals to the monitor.

If you prefer a software to test your monitor for dead or stuck pixels, you may want to try the Dead Pixel Tester or Injured Pixels programs which you can use for that very purpose. They basically help you display the monitor in different solid colors, so that it becomes easier to spot dead or stuck pixels on it. The programs won't help you fix the pixels though.

Sorry, this doesn’t work. You cannot fix a dead pixel.

Case in point: Dead pixels are different from Stuck pixels. I know beause I had used LCD monitors which had dead and stuck pixels.

Taken from the site you mentioned:

“These instructions will fix “stuck” pixels, not “dead” ones. Dead pixels appear black while stuck pixels can be one constant color like red, green or blue.”
