This doesn’t work!

Martin says, January 3rd, 2006

well it works for me

Frank says, January 3rd, 2006

For me also

Lorissa says, January 3rd, 2006

Well, I wonder if the two of you realize that you wouldn’t need to do this with the first file you download from RapidShare, only the second and subsequent files?

Entering “javascript:alert(c=1)” to download the first file desired doesn’t do anything. You wait the required seconds and then enter the three characters and click “start download”. That works either way providing you aren’t using a proxy that has been used by someone else within the hour (or more) wait restriction between files.

Trying the “example” given within the article at computerhelpforum.org proves nothing since this would be your first file to download and that’s not where the hourly wait restriction starts.

It doesn’t work and that’s all there is to it.

Martin says, January 4th, 2006

6. I tried it with the first download, you are right. As I described I saw a countdown of 3x seconds, I entered the javascript, hit enter, the popup appeared, clicked ok and i could enter the characters immediatly and the countdown dissappeared.

Lorissa says, January 4th, 2006

As you should know by now Martin (Jyhad), I’m always right. :)

pumix says, January 7th, 2006

That is just plain silly. No offence. So you’re saying instead of waiting for 30 seconds I have to go fumbling and “hack” that waiting time? who even cares about the waiting time?
The hourly download limit is the real (and only) problem with rapidshare, and unless you’re downloading your insulin off rapidshare that shouldn’t matter much either..

Lorissa says, January 8th, 2006

No, that’s not what was said at all. This procedure actually saves you absolutely nothing. In fact, it’s totally a waste of time and the space given it here and everywhere.

FakeFx says, January 16th, 2006

I tried it just now, and it seems it doesn’t work anymore. I tested this in Firefox and Opera, and nothing. :(

Oh well.

Lorissa says, January 21st, 2006

FakeFx - feel free to read the entire thread. This NEVER worked!

Hi all!
I’m from Hungary, sorry my bad english….
I have TDSL with non-fix ip. When i finish download from rapids, quick discpnnect then reconnect to inet. i’ts working! D’nt need wait, only 47 sec. With this script : javascript:alert(c=1) reduce wait to 1 sec :)
ALWAYS WORKING!
Tipp: make shortcut to rapids site to shortc bar. Clik right and select properties. Paste into URL cell this script: javascript:alert(c=1).
No more copy-paste-Enter keys:) Just clik on the new rapid key on the shortc toolbar:)
PEACE from Hungary:)

nice job

nombril says, July 5th, 2006

I don’t understand the fuss. I wait a couple of seconds between downloads( rapid share), not a hour or even minits. I download as much as I wan’t. All I do is clear my cookies, turn off my modem, count to ten and turn it back on, then i’m free to download again.with out the long wait. I don’t know wy this works, but it does.

Martin says, July 5th, 2006

nombril this rapidshare trick is working because you probably recieve a new ip when you reconnect so rapidshare does not know that you already were downloading files minutes before.

MeMan says, July 9th, 2006

Qualifies Martin’s post…Nombril, your modem is being assigned a new IP from your ISP provider. Most ISP’s usually have more customers than they have IP addresses. So instead of assigning everyone one specific address they usually “roll” the IP addresses as they are requested by thier clients. So when you are gettin a new IP its like RapidShare sees you as a completely different client.

MeMan says, July 9th, 2006

Oh and Larissa this does/did work to get rid of the 45 second wait time. Its a very simple javascript injection which redefines the timer variable. This was not meant to allow multiple downloads by bypassing the 75 minute wait period.

nombril says, July 9th, 2006

Did you tru just turning the switch in back of your modem off, the back on again, wait a couple of seconds (to re login) and you wait 1 min instead of 77 min.

nombril says, July 9th, 2006

I’m senile, I’m sorry I posted before reading. OK how come the javascrip works for some but not for others? Thank you.

Having javascript enabled in your browser might be an advantage.. It does work, well for me Actually: “javascript:alert(c=0)” worked, i found it on some other site.. But you know, works for some doesn’t work for others..

Saifee says, December 14th, 2007

Hi! Something happened with my rapidshare downloads. I always get the error message that JavaScript is not enabled, although it is. I tried both with Mozilla and Explorer. The problem appeared today, before it all worked well. Can this have something to do with firewall settings? I’m getting desperate. Please help! Thanks, Anikó

Hi all

I used to have a rapidshare premium account until I lost my job due to down-sizing/retrenchments of the company I worked for after they were taken over by a large corporation.

I now use the FREE rapidshare download but it is really getting me down.
I don’t mind TOO MUCH that one has to wait between d/l - I can understand that this is how they want to get one to purchase a premium account.

However, what irritates the hell out of me is that, I select the free option on the main screen, wait for 1.8 to 2.2. minutes to obtain a d/l ticket, enter the CORRECT code (captcha), and then RS says I entered an incorrect code and must try again. I retry and get the same message over and over again.

It has reached the stage where I am lucky to get even ONE succesful d/l per day.

Have tried Universal Share Downloader, Orbit and Cryptload but get the same results even with them.

Did not try Onspeed as I do not know where to get it - perhaps someone can provide me with a link.

By the way, I forgot to mention that after I select the “free” option and it then goes to the second page, an error mesagge flashes for a second or two saying “Please enable javascript”. Then it disappears and is replaced with the timer that starts to count down.

I downloaded and installed the latest Java, but it has made no difference.

Need your help to solve this problem. Perhaps there is a setting on my pc that needs adjustment - anyone have any ideas regarding this???

Waiting in anticpation for someone who can help me solve this.

Thanks.

may capitolism burn in hell! says, March 30th, 2008

Hi ddk1979,

Close down all your programs. Open IE, then then clear all your cookies in internet options. Turn off your computer completely at the wall, including the modem and wall socket. Leave for about ten seconds. Turn your modem on, and about 30 seconds, when your modem kicks back on line, turn on your computer. When everything has been booted up, simpley go into rapidshare.

You should get right in. Rapidshare’s system works on a IP address system. When you switch off your modem at the wall, your old IP address is deleted, once you delete you cookies.

Go for it, let me know, and let’s screw those selfish pigs.

ddk1979 says, March 31st, 2008

Thanks for the reply “may capitolism burn in hell”

I probably forgot to say that I do that as well. I clean out ALL cookies, history, recent docs, and also do a search for any file starting with “rapid*” and delete everything.

Then I run FOUR utility programs (Tuneup 2008, System Tools, XP Repair Pro and the latest CCleaner) and after that completely shutdown EVERYTHING by unplugging from the wall for at least 3-5 minutes. Then I reboot pc and modem, but keep getting the same error message.

BTW, I also clean out the registry with above programs.

I also posted this request on another site and someone stated “You need to ensure, which ever web browser you are using, you are allowing both Java and Javascript for Rapidshare and all Rapidshare IP names/addresses it is using”.

I use Windows XP SP2 and IE7 (have tried Firefox but it does not work well for ME).

Perhaps someone can tell me step by step (I have extremely little pc knowledge) how to set Java and Javascript as mentioned above.

Thanks
.

Very nice trick. I created a bookmark in my Firefox called “RapidHack” and put it on the toolbar, then made the link “javascript:alert(c=1)” so that I can just click that when downloading from RapidShare and voila! No need to wait :)

Dickie says, July 29th, 2008

Doesn’t work the counter does go down to one sec but straight after you get a javascript no enabled error….

Pillipenes sucks dick and eats cock meat sandwich

rs says, August 2nd, 2008

They’re not that stupid. there’s a counter running on the server side as well. If you rush your client-side timer you’ll still have to wait for the server-side timer or you’ll get an error message.
duh.

BTW, you can type javascript:void(c=1) and avoid the alert message. Still, it’ll get you nowhere.

doesnt work now.. previously following used to work..

javascript: var c = c1 = c2 = c3 = c4 = c5 = c6 = c7 = c8 = c9 = c10 = c11 = c12 = c13 = c14 = c15 = c16 = c17 = c18 = c19 = c20 = c21 = c22 = c23 = c24 = c25 = c26 = count = 0;

rapidshare has recently patched its script so it no longer works..

Alap says, August 28th, 2008

I have checked all the possible workarounds, Hacks, even the Cheat Engine trick.

CONCLUSION: None of the tricks work.

BOTTOM-LINE: Rapidshare.com (Not Rapidshare.de) is a very decent & best site currently.

One should not employ such tricks to shave off a few seconds.
