I want to..

Have you every asked yourself what you have to do if you want to share your photographs with others online ? Or how to share an online calendar with family, friends and co-workers ? The I want to site has a large list of things you´d probably want to do and a link to a site that leads to the solution.

The list is divided in categories, namely “Share Stuff”, “Manage myself more effectively”, “Do clever things with RSS & weblogs” and “Do a bunch of other stuff!”. The site always offers more than one link to a how to giving the visitor a larger variety of choice.

Update: Phil Bradley’s website is still online, after almost six years. That’s a long time for a list of services, but since the list has been updated throughout the years, it is fair to say that it is still relevant on today’s Internet. How do I know that it has been updated? Because the current list links to services like Dropbox that have not been around in the year 2005.

When you open the page for the first time you will notice that web services and tools have been sorted into groups like Communications or Education, and subgroups like spreadsheets or networking.

A click on a subgroup opens the list of suggested services and tools, each with a direct link to the service and a short description that explains in a few sentences what the service or tool is all about.

Making the net easier offers a comprehensive list of more than 1100 Internet services and applications that are free to use. Among them highly popular services like the Internet radio Pandora, the music database Musicbrainz, file hosting services such as Rapidshare or MegaUpload, but also lesser known services sand tools such as YouTube video downloaders or text to pdf services.
